Tips and Guidelines for Cleaning your Child's Jungle Bedding

It feels like a chose when it comes to cleaning your child's jungle bedding. With so many different pieces to a jungle bedding set or collection, there are many different ways to cleaning. Some pieces require more care than others and some pieces have strange instructions. This page will guide you through cleaning the most common parts of a jungle bedding set.

Blankets and Bedspreads: It is important to keep bedspreads cleaned before they are soiled. The best way to treat the stains on a jungle bedspread is to use a spray prewash. Before you wash the bedspread, check to make sure that it does not bleed. If your child's jungle bedspread bleeds, then you will have to have it dry-cleaned. Otherwise, you can just put it in a washing machine and then dry it in a dryer.

When you clean the blankets, you will also need to treat the stains before you wash it. Afterwards, most blankets can be washed or hand-washed. If you wish to get rid of dust off of the blanket, the you can just vacuum it, and then air it out on a clothesline.

Comforters and Quilts: The first thing to check on a comforter or quilt is if it is fragile or not. If it is fragile, then you will have to hand-wash this piece of the jungle bedding. If it is in good condition, you can just put it in a washing machine, and use an all-purpose detergent with cold water.

Pillows: Just like the other parts of the jungle bedding set, the pillows need some care too. Since all pillows have different filling in it, it is best to just follow the instructions on it. A good tip to follow though is to protect each pillow with a zip-on cotton or polyester cover. You may also want to air out the pillow once a month by placing it next to an open window.

Mattresses: You will want to flip over your mattress regularly to keep even wear on both sides of this. Failing to do so can make the mattress uncomfortable later on. In addition, you should keep your mattress covered by rubberized or quilted covers. To clean the mattress, make sure it does not get very wet, and make sure it is fully dry before using again.
